Big Sister Remi Honored as Liberty University Volunteer of the Year!

On Wednesday, April 23rd, Remi Harvey, a Senior at Liberty University was chosen as Liberty's 2007-2008 Christian Service Volunteer of the Year. She was presented the prestigious award during the convocation ceremony that was attended by the entire student body. Remi has served as a Big Sister to Amirah for the last two semesters and has made a tremendous positive impact in her life during the time they have been matched. Even though she is a student with many other responsibilities, Remi has proven that she is faithful, consistent, and unselfish with her time, especially since she spends an average of 15-20 hours a month with her Little! Remy and her Little Sister enjoy skating, watching movies, doing Amirah’s school projects together, and of course, shopping! Ash Gorman, Executive Director of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Virginia states, “Not only is she a good mentor to the child, but she’s also an ambassador for the program. And that’s what we need.” To learn more about Remi and her award, click
